®Vinnolit PA 5470/5 is a fine-particle,pastemaking emulsion copolymer of vinyl chloride and 3 % vinyl acetate giving medium-viscosity plastisols with slightly pseudo-plastic flow properties(see diagram).Due to its vinyl acetate content,®Vinnolit PA 5470/5 can be processed at lower gelling temperatures than homopolymers.

Processing and Application
®Vinnolit PA 5470/5 may be converted into
pastes by the standard methods, by dissolver
or low-speed mixer. However, undue heating
of the paste during mixing should be avoided
since the vinyl acetate content may cause a
marked rise in viscosity. Pastes based on
®Vinnolit PA 5470/5 can be applied by all the
usual procedures.
®Vinnolit PA 5470/5 is a low temperature
gelling, medium-viscosity paste grade,
recommended for coating heat-sensitive base
fabrics, laminating pastes, carpet backings as
well as automotive underbody and seam
sealants.
These applications also benefit from a high
filler-loading capability as well as good
adhesion to textile base fabrics and
automotive metal surfaces. In addition, the
product is suitable for the manufacture of
mechanically frothed foam containing silicone
based foaming aids.
To lower paste viscosity and increase shelf life,
®Vinnolit PA 5470/5 may be blended with
homo-polymer extender resins such as
®Vinnolit C 65 V.
Remarkable properties are:
• lower gelling temperature
• good adhesion at textiles and automotive
metal sheets
• better mechanical properties
• better abrasion resistance in UBC-mastics
• low fogging value
